Pimm’s No. 1 is a gin-based liqueur flavored with fruits, spices and herbs. Initially intended as a digestive tonic, Pimm’s Cup was invented in the 1800s by James Pimm of England. This refreshing drink is a tradition for local horsemen gathering for carriage-driving events. During the Devon Carriage Marathon, antique horse-drawn vehicles travel a four-mile route starting with judging at St. David’s Church and ending at the 108-year-old Devon Horse Show and Country Fairgrounds.
